I was born and raised in Louisiana. Despite the challenge of living in the “big city” for the past 27 years, San Diego has become my home and the place where my husband and I have raised two wonderful young men.

I am a perpetual student of life and the lessons it has to offer. I taught early morning religion classes to the youth in my church for six years and currently spend a lot of time volunteering in the church’s women’s organization. I have also recently become interested in the genealogical research of my family’s roots.

My interest in the law and our legal system has been constant throughout my adult life. While my children were still in school, I enrolled in the ABA approved Paralegal Studies program at Cuyamaca College. During my studies, I took a Family Law elective and realized the satisfaction that can be obtained in helping people through what is often the most challenging time of their lives.

For the next four years I worked in the Financial services industry.  However, I lost my job when the market crashed.  It became important to me to achieve my goal of completing college, so I returned and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Literatures in English with honors from UCSD. In August of 2014, I began my career as a Family Law paralegal.

My role at the Law Office of Jennifer A. Britt, APC, is widely varied. I am often the first point of contact a client has with the firm. I provide receptionist and office filing duties and I am the paralegal on all cases. As a paralegal, my work helps keep the client’s bill lower than if they dealt primarily with the attorneys. I assist clients with accurately completing forms and work with and encourage them to meet all deadlines.
